In addition to his contributor role, Hewitt is also the host of the “Hugh Hewitt Show” on the Salem Radio Network and the Salem News Channel. Hewitt is an attorney, law professor and journalist, formerly a well-known columnist for The Washington Post and now a columnist for the Washington Reviewer. Hewitt has written 14 books on politics and faith Bestseller.
Prior to his decades-long career in the media, he served in President Ronald Reagan for six years, holding multiple positions, including deputy director and general counsel for the Office of Personnel Management, general counsel for the National Humanities Foundation, assistant attorney at the White House and special assistant to two U.S. lawyers.

Hewitt began his career as an editorial assistant to Richard Nixon after his retirement in San Clemente, California and New York.
He received three Emmy Awards during his tenure as co-host of weekend television news and public affairs On PBS Los Angeles Member KCET-TV. Hewitt also wrote for several publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Los Angeles Times.
