Kering confirmed a data breach on Monday affecting customers of its luxury brands Gucci, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Lauren and others.

Hackers stole sensitive customer data such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses and the total amount they spent in stores around the world. BBC first reported violations.

Killing said the hacker did not steal credit card numbers, and it had contacted customers whose data belonged to the violation, without saying how much it was affected.

The BBC said the hacker behind the hacker was a notorious group called Shinyhunters, who claimed to have stolen data related to 7.4 million email addresses.
