The $20 billion comes from two initiatives launched by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which aims to provide grants to nonprofits, community development banks and other groups to focus on disadvantaged communities. EPA administrator Lee Zeldin moved earlier this month to end the program, but the decision is now In court.
“Biden’s attempt to mask its corrupt self-deal by making a shady deal with financial institutions, thus avoiding any oversight, rewarding political politics to push the left-wing environmental agenda,” Comer said in a statement. “Radical environmental groups that profit from Biden’s Green New Deal must be held accountable for their abuse of taxpayer-funded grants and informing our investigation.”

Republicans claim the $20 billion was “stopped at external financial institutions” to avoid oversight. Eight groups of funds were awarded from the $14 billion National Clean Investment Fund and the $6 billion Clean Community Investment Accelerator as part of the Greenhouse Price Reduction Fund (GGRF) program.
Eight letters are given to: Climate Union, Green Capital Alliance, Large Community, Opportunity Financing Network, Inclusion, Justice Climate Fund, Appalachian Community Capital and Local CDFI Network.
The funding includes a $2 billion grant to the Power Forward community, which has links to former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, aims to “reduce the impact on the climate” by funding household appliances in low-income communities Green alternatives.

“On the first page of the grant agreement, it tells them that they have 21 days of allocating the entire $2 billion. On the 7th page of the Grant Agreement, it gives them 90 days to complete a training called “How to Make a Budget.” I’m going to say that any entity that needs training how to make a budget should not actually allocate funds before receiving the training, and they certainly shouldn’t receive $2 billion for a quick allocation,” he continued.
The same goes for Zeldin Noted that the EPA found that the potential “conflict of interest” paid $5 billion and the former director of Biden’s greenhouse gas reduction fund.
“All that money is put in front,” Celding said. “It’s ‘It’s $20 billion here.’ That’s handed it to their friends on the left.”

The acting inspector general of the EPA is now investigating GGRF’s financial mismanagement, conflict of interest and failure of oversight.
The Oversight Board launched an investigation in February and requested a briefing to Zeldin earlier this month. The FBI is also investigating possible criminal acts.
Fox News Digital has contacted eight companies to comment on Comer’s letters, but has not received any responses before it was posted.
