Comcast rolls out a five-year price guarantee for new internet customers

On the plus side, the deal has nothing to do with the annual contract requirements. Comcast says the following plans can be used with a five-year guarantee (the speed listed is download speed):

  • 400Mbps – $55 per month

  • 600Mbps – $70 per month

  • 1.1Gbps – $85 per month

  • 2.1Gbps – $105 per month

The plan includes unlimited data and free rentals for Xfinity gateway routers – however, unlimited data will cost an extra $30 per month if you want to bring your own hardware. Although the Xfinity shopping page says the deals last until June 23, a Comcast spokesperson lets us know that they will be beyond that date.

Locked prices do not include installation, taxes, fees or other fees, and Comcast Notes may change during and after the promotion. Finally, if you don’t sign up and maintain paperless bills and automatic payments, you pay $10 per month (an extra $8 if you pay by credit or debit card).

After reading the beautiful print, you may find that Comcast’s press release relates price guarantees to simplicity. “Our new price guarantee eliminates complexity,” writes Concas Steve Croney.
