Some Columbia University Students tied themselves to the gates to protest against Mahmoud Khalil’s detention with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Students began protesting outside Columbia University St. Paul’s Church asked the institution to release the name “name given to Mahmoud Khalil to ICE” on Wednesday afternoon. “We will not leave until our needs are met,” the Colombian Palestine Solidarity Commission wrote on X.

“Free Mahmoud Khalil. Named Trustee. Jewish students won’t leave. They will continue to be tied to the campus gate until @Columbia University is in charge. The group wrote on X.

A Columbia University spokesman told Fox News Numbers that the agency’s public safety officials will be removed after about two hours of being tied to the campus gate.
“We are monitoring the interruptions in the gates of St. Paul’s Church, involving about four people linked to one gate, which constitutes violations of the rules of university conduct. Individuals meet the need for identity but refuse to leave the area. Public safety in Colombia and individuals are escorted off campus.

“We will follow the rules of violations established in the University’s rules of conduct. Our focus is to retain our core mission to teach, create and promote knowledge while ensuring a safe campus for our community,” the spokesperson said.
The protesters then sat outside the gate, with their arms connected and said they planned to stay until Colombia stock “the trustee is responsible for informing the students,” Colombia Daily Audience.

A spokesman for the New York Police Department told Fox News that about 80 protesters were outside the door of St. Paul’s Church on Columbia University’s campus.
The protesters also draped a poster from a nearby overpass that read: “Free Mahmoud Khalil. Name the trustee.”
