Columbia University students They sued after President Donald Trump and other senior administration officials tried to revoke her permanent resident status and evacuate her from the United States.
After the arrest of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Department (ICE) for Yunseo Chung, 21, was filed on Monday and told the South Korean that her identity was being “revoked”.
The lawsuit says the government is “part of a larger model of protests attempting to curb constitutional protection.”
The lawsuit reads: “The government’s crackdown focuses specifically among college students who support the Palestinians and criticize the ongoing military campaign in Gaza or the pro-Israel policy of the U.S. government and other U.S. agencies.”

The lawsuit is titled Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Attorney General Pamela Bondi, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Ice Todd Lyons’ acting director and Ice William William Joyce’s acting director in New York.
“The government’s actions are an unprecedented and unreasonable attack on the First Amendment and other rights, and it is a right to not accept basic legal review,” the lawsuit said. “Simply put, Immigration law enforcement– Here, immigration detention and threatened deportation – may not be used as a tool to punish non-citizen spokespersons who express political views that are not conducive to the current government. ”

Chung, a junior at the Ivy League institution, had a promising future after graduating from her high school. During her father’s graduate studies, she legally arrived in the United States. The lawsuit states that she maintained a 3.99 GPA.
Chung participated Pro-Palestinian protests On campus, but not talking to the media, nor in high-profile positions like former Colombian students and legal immigrants facing deportation.

Her name was mentioned in media reports after attending the protest on March 5. She was arrested for “obstructing government administration,” but the university cleared her wrongdoing in disciplinary proceedings related to the protests.
The lawsuit claims that Bing is hers soon after, and went to her family’s home to look for her and searched for her dormitory room.
“Now, the top officials in the government echelon are trying to use immigration enforcement as a suppression of speeches they don’t like, including those of Ms. Zhong,” they said.
On Tuesday, a federal court issued a temporary restraining order on the ice, saying it could not arrest and deport clocks. The expiration of the order will be determined by another court order.

Litigation accused the government of pursuing her freedom of speech and attempted to revoke her status using the reasons the government believes she is threatening to foreign policy.
The Trump administration has made it clear that it will follow foreign students participating in the pro-Palestine protests and label them as “family.”
“For all residents of foreigners who participate in pro-jihad protests, we have noticed you: By 2025, we will find you and we will expel you,” Trump quoted in a fact sheet issued by the White House. “I will also quickly cancel student visas for all Hamas sympathizers on university campuses who have been infected with unprecedented radicalism.”

In a statement to Fox News, a U.S. Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Zhong was “engaging in the involvement of the act” but would have the opportunity to bring her case to an immigration judge.
“ICE HSI will investigate people engaged in activities to support the foreign terrorist organization Hamas,” they said. “Based on the findings, the State Department can make a decision that could lead to visa revocation or other actions that affect immigration status of U.S. foreigners in the State Department’s decision, and ICE will take appropriate enforcement actions.”
