Community college football player Emanuell Cooks dies from medical complications after football match In Mississippi This week.

The college’s statement did not specify the cause of Cook’s death.

“Our entire Trojan family has wreak havoc on this loss,” MDCC President Steven Jones said in a press release. “At the moment, our deepest thoughts and prayers are to be with Emanuell’s family, teammates, coaches and friends. We will unite as a community to support each other through this tragedy.”

The college is providing support services to students, faculty and staff.

College football player Chase Stegall, the son of former NFL Wide Out Milton Stegall, died at the age of 20.

Hinds Community College President Stephen Vacik said in a statement Friday that Cooks’ death “a reminder of how precious time is on Earth”.

Cooks is the latest college or high school athlete in 2025.
