For some in the party, Schumer is ruling the borrowed time.

Other Democratic strategists don’t think Schumer should be replaced and are confident that he won’t.
Democratic strategist Max Burns told Fox News Digital that Schumer “will survive.” He praised Trump’s “habits flooding the area” with Schumer’s ability to persevere.
Schumer’s former senior aide, Jim Kessler and executive vice president of Third Road policy, told Fox News Digital that he hopes he “continue to serve as democratic leader in the Senate.”
“Yes, there was a bunch of House Democrats and activists calling on him to resign as leader,” he said. But “few people in the Senate do that, and most of the Democrats in Washington just lowered their minds.”
“I talked to a House Democrat and he said he was angry for 24 hours and then thanked after he thought about it for a few days,” Kessler said.

Former Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Jim Manley, a former senior communications adviser and spokesman for the Senate Democratic Caucus, agreed that Schumer would not need to resign.
“There are a lot of blame on Schumer,” Manley said.
“We are in this position and no one stepped up to be the main protagonist of Trump as an opponent,” said another Democratic strategist who chose to remain anonymous. He pointed to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-calif.

Strategists further criticized Democrats for being too quick to handle leaders and party members who made mistakes or disagrees, and called on Schumer to resign “premature birth.”
Schumer’s office did not comment to Fox News Digital in a timely manner.
