The author of the best-selling memoir “A child named ‘It: “A child’s courage to survive” Connecticut stepmother Kimberly Sullivan is disturbing.
Dave Pelzer told Fox News Digital, adding that the details of Sullivan’s copy were “out of sadness.”

“I’ve done a lot of cases – a lot of situations. It’s serious. Extremely serious,” Pelzer said. “Because of its length and fact, [the victim is] 5 feet 8 and 68 lbs. I was worried about his mental state. ”
The Waterbury Police Department found Sullivan’s 32-year-old stepson at home, and he admitted to putting the fire there.
The man was not named, found thin and told police that he had been confined to his home since he was 11 years old. He said he had never received medical or dental care.
“I want my freedom,” he told investigators.

According to Sullivan’s arrest warrant, the victim identified as “Male Victim 1” was placed in an 8-foot 9-foot storage closet without air conditioning or heating and unable to access the bathroom for 20 years. He is left in the closet for 22-24 hours a day.
He allowed him two sandwiches and two small water bottles every day, one of which would be used to take a bath. He used water bottles and newspapers to deal with the waste.
Sullivan is Accused of arrest First-level attack, second-level kidnapping, first-level illegal restriction, cruelty and first-level reckless danger to people.
She was released on $300,000 bail.

Although victims are sometimes allowed to go out and release their family dogs and do housework, Pertzer said victims of extreme abuse will not run away because their parents restrict the abuse they think is normal for them to face.
“I have to tell you, when I went to court, when I became the permanent ward of the court, I was with my beautiful social worker. God bless her.” “Then I saw my mom all over the hallway and I forgot I did that, but I think I wrote a note to mom and said, ‘Dear mom, I’m sorry for that.”

“I remember one time I was going to run away,” he said. “I think I was 6 years old and I planned it all. I stole an apple pie and took it to the basement. They went to family affairs or anything else for an afternoon and I was going to run away. I thought, ‘Where am I going? Who will take me there?”’
While it was reported that the Connecticut Children and Family Department visited Sullivan’s residence in response to reports from victim schools, Pelzer explained that abuse of parents often has the unique ability to manipulate the authorities.

“We are shocked and saddened by the victims,” the department said in a statement.
The department noted that there were no records of access to Sullivan’s houses because five years later, its system removed unconfirmed reports of neglect and abuse.
Pertzer said he hopes a caring family member will support the victims, who will have limited national rehabilitation resources as adults.
