She added: “My mother was originally from Chicago and saw the elderly being killed, our children being killed, our mother being killed, our young being killed, we were not getting any help at all… It’s starting to normalize, it’s not normal.”

“I know US President I fell in love with TV, asked me to call him and asked him about the troops. I found it very strange because Chicago didn’t want to be in the army on our streets. I refuse to take part in a reality show,” he said.

Meanwhile, Johnson accused Trump of using gun violence victims to expand his power and insisted that Chicago will continue to have “violence problems” as long as the red state has “gun problems.”

The mayor signed an executive order on Saturday prohibiting local police from working with their federal counterparts while vowing to protect the Constitution, cities and their people.

The order confirms that Chicago police will continue to enforce state and local laws but will not work with the National Guard or federal agents on patrol, arrest, immigration enforcement or other law enforcement actions.
