Chicago Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson held a fierce press conference condemning Donald Trump’s crackdown on crime. “Once, prisons, incarceration and law enforcement are a disease that does not lead to a safe community,” he said. ”

“The truth is, we are driving violence in this city, and we are using every resource we have available. Prison, incarceration and law enforcement are a disease that does not lead to a safe community!” he argued. “I work hard every day to protect people who are trapped in violence in this city. Guess why? You want to know why? Because the vast majority of people look like me!”
He then asserted that the approach he adopted was working and that he refused to get Trump’s administration praise if they were involved.
