Edtech Company Chegg has Prosecution Google claims that the tech giant’s AI search results summary has hurt Chegg’s traffic and revenue.
In a lawsuit filed by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Jogg accused Google of unfair competition—especially the richness of mutual transactions, monopoly maintenance and injustice. Chegg claims Google has forced companies to provide their content in order to include it in Google searches, unfairly exercising its monopoly power to gain the benefits of third-party IP.
Chegg is seeking compensatory damages and other forms of relief, as well as a ban on what Google calls “illegal and unfair” behavior.
Chegg is just the latest publisher, involving Google’s efforts Inject Google Search With AI. one quantity information Media claims they have seen traffic in Google’s AI summary that draws from sources around the network to answer Google search user queries.
