The company launched its carrier in the United States in January as an “agent that can access the web to perform tasks.” The operator can handle various browser-based tasks for the user, such as filling out forms, making restaurant reservations, and ordering groceries. For now, it is still a preview of the early stages of the restriction, but the company said it hopes to make improvements based on user feedback.
Now, operators are launching to Australia, Brazil, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK and most Chatgpt Pro users.

The tool is powered by a model called Computer Usage Agent, which is trained to view and interact with buttons, menus, and text fields that people see when they visit a website. It can click a button, type in the text field, and then basically interact with these elements, “all operations allowed by using the mouse and keyboard”. The company said in its announcement that it is still working to launch operators in the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland.
The carrier is still only available to subscribers who pay $200 a month for Chatgpt Pro, but the company plans to expand its availability to future Plus, Team, and Enterprise users, and then eventually integrate its capabilities into Chatgpt. When this happens, it may be doing tasks for hundreds of millions of people around the world: Recently Beyond There are 400 million active users per week, twice the user count OpenAI reported in August 2024.
