Shooting to kill suspects of conservative activists Charlie Kirk Investigators said Thursday they were analyzing security footage of a mysterious person “wearing all dark clothes.”

“Our only information about the suspect is the possible shooter, which was obtained from CCTV on campus,” Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason said Wednesday.

The Utah Department of Public Safety said Kirk was taken to Tim Panogos Regional Hospital after being shot, where he was pronounced dead.
“The shooting remains an active investigation,” the agency said in a statement. “The Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are co-leading the incident with the Utah County Attorney’s Office, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office and the local police department.”

The statement continued: “DPS’s state crime labs, as well as all involved law enforcement departments, are working on multiple active crime scenes. These are determined based on where the victim was shot and where the suspect and victim traveled.”
It also said: “The shooting was considered a targeted offense.” “Shotsman It is believed that fire has been opened from the roof of the building until the location of public events in the student courtyard. No other clarification is provided to protect the integrity of our investigation. ”

DPS said it was originally George Zinn as the suspect but later released him. Sinn was charged with blockage by campus police.
The second person was detained but was also released after a trial by law enforcement, DPS added.
“There is no connection to the shootings of these two people at present,” DPS said.
The FBI now requires the public to share any information, photos or videos that may be possessed in the incident.

“To ensure the event, six UVU PD officials are attending the event,” DPS said. “These safety measures are the safety details for Charlie Kirk, who traveled with him.
