Utah police respond to Charlie Kirk shooting

Utah Sends Audio Reveals Crazy Moments of an Unidentified Assassin’s Deadly Shooting Conservative Speaker and Turning Point US Founder Charlie Kirk Wednesday afternoon on the university campus.

“Please note that Orem’s UVU has an active shooter at the Charlie Kirk event. We’re getting a few calls. I’m working on getting more information.”
“Do they ask for help?” a man’s voice replied.
“We’re not sure yet,” she said. “We just want to get the unit this way.”

Police initially detained a man named George Zinn, accusing him of obstructing him and releasing him. The second person interested, identified as Zachariah Qureshi, was also detained, interrogated and released.

“There is no link to the shootings of the two people at this time,” a Utah Department of Public Safety spokesman said in a statement. “The ongoing investigation and shooter hunt.”
Hunters remained active Thursday morning. Investigators said Thursday morning that they tracked the sniper’s escape route and restored “high-power bolt-shooting rifles.”

According to videos of the event, a gunshot broke in the air. Witnesses screamed in fear, and the bullet hit the neck and fled to cover. He was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Other videos circulating online appear to show dark statues on the roof. Authorities say the gunshots came from about 200 yards away, which could be from a perch on the roof of the Lose Center building, which is located on the other side of the square where Kirk spoke.

“It will be basic police work here,” said David Katz, former DEA special agent and CEO of Global Security. “They should pull all the phones out of that small geographic area.”

He said Utah Investigators Weeks of surveillance video will also be reviewed to see if anyone has visited the same roof.
“They need to focus on the escape mechanism,” he said. “Every car in the area. I don’t think he escaped in Utah, so it has to be a car. After the shooting, it will take him a few seconds to get out. I don’t know if he threw the gun away, but it will be a simple thing, change the shirt and leave the area quickly.”
