Dan Bongino, deputy director of the FBI Investigators are investigating whether Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin acted alone or as part of a broader plot, while also revealing disturbing signs that the suspect has been “taken over” by ideology, leading to the shooting.
Bongino told Fox News’ “U.S. News Room” Although a suspect is in custody, the bureau is “investigating” possible accomplices.
“If it’s a bigger effort, if there’s any effort that helps and teaches, whether it’s financial or knows the details of it, and fails to report that we’re investigating,” he told Bill Hemmer. “There won’t be a rock that’s unwavering.”

Investigators are reviewing videos showing the gunman Jump off the roof After the deadly shooting. Bongino said the video was crucial to helping the agency crack the case.
“When you watch the video, it looks like the gun is in the backpack or in him,” he said. “This is where we get most of the forensic evidence, and it’s the key information that makes this matter open.”

The deputy director confirmed that the suspect expressed violent intentions before the attack.
“You see a lot of things in targeted violence cases, assassinations and school shootings, where individuals express his desire to do these specific things in advance. The same seems to be true here,” he said.

Bongino revealed that family and colleagues told investigators that the suspects were increasingly political and withdrawn during the time of the assassination of 31-year-old Kirk on September 10.
“From the data we have accumulated, this ideology has infected him and taken over him,” Bongino said. “He intends to make Charlie’s goals and people may know in advance.”

Bongino, who described Kirk as a close personal friend, added that the FBI’s quick response should reassure the public.
“We have our guys Within 33 hours. Next time, when a crisis comes, we will look at what we can do well and what we can do better. We can do better. ”
