Smith and James traded barbs in separate media appearances throughout the week. Comments on his son Bronny’s passionate fanatics after James faces Smith in the Lakers game. Smith insists that nothing is said by himself. Smith mentioned the personal issues he might have said to LeBron James, but did not mention them.

Barkley analyses verbal wars when it appears “Dan Patrick’s performance.” He said Smith and James had a bad few weeks.
“They both had a bad week,” he said. “LeBron, he was too big to be that bully. Bullying Stephen A. Brian Windhorst. . . . Brian Windhorst, he is a lovely man, man. He just wants to do his own thing. And I always liked LeBron, but he was a bully, which disappointed me.
“But I’m going to say this: Stephen A., his reaction was so lame and weak. Stephen A. (Poin of the Arena, talking about hardships, come on, man, you’re better than that.

“There are only losers in this case. You have the biggest star in the game, you probably get the biggest star on TV, and both of them look bad. What both both both are good guys. I don’t mind being a good guy-looking guy-looking bad- I don’t mind that. A, I’m not sure what he’s going to do.
It is not clear whether the relationship will be fixed. Smith said James was only angry with him because he thought the Lakers star would never surpass Michael Jordan as the greatest basketball player of all time.
Smith had to withdraw his words about James’ participation Kobe Bryant’s Memorial. Smith said James wasn’t there at the February 2020 event. James is just the focus.
“My apology and clarification. Today, I misspelled the 1st hour of @firsttake when I hinted that LeBron did not attend Kobe Bryant’s Memorial. I corrected myself in the 2nd hour of memory when I admitted he did attend the meeting,” he wrote on X.
