The chaos of Inglewood Carmax is revealed like a scene in a movie.
A customer suddenly, unsteadily turned around and turned the SUV into a dealer showroom on Saturday afternoon. The alleged driver, 25-year-old Andrew Jesus Arroyo, injured an employee and several customers in the vehicle massacre, paralyzing at least one person, according to court records.
On Tuesday, Los Angeles County prosecutors charged Arroyo with multiple felony counts, including attempted murder, and specifically charged with serious bodily injury, adding to any potential prison sentence he could be convicted of.

As the tires screamed in the showroom, customers and Camax employees jumped up, and the vehicle knocked down office furniture and drove towards the other end of the building.
Then the vehicle drove away at a speed. Ingwood police said Arroyo turned to authorities.
Eight people were injured in chaos and two were taken to the injured trauma center.
Witnesses said Arroyo was upset after his vehicle was evaluated by Carmax employees, but it is unclear what this might prompted it to happen later.
Carmax said the injured employee was treated and released at the hospital for non-life hazard injury. The initial news report on the crash said Arroyo was upset about the assessment of his vehicle, but in a statement, a Kamax spokesman said, “This is inconsistent with our staff reports to date.”
“Based on the accounts of the employee who interacted with the suspect that day, he did not complain about the offer and even took the time to look at potential purchases of our inventory,” the statement said. “Employees shared that they observed his behavior suddenly becoming unstable, but they did not believe it was related to the assessment of the offer. We continue to review all available information to fully understand the incident.”
Kamax said this would not speculate on the motivation behind the incident and forward all other issues to authorities.
“The safety of our employees, communities and customers is our top priority,” Carmax said in a statement, adding that the company is working with law enforcement to investigate. “We are very sad about this incident and our hearts do our best to all those affected.”
Before the incident, an employee who bought a car at a dealership said he saw customers yelling at employees and they tried to calm him down. The customer waved a metal water bottle and ran outside and jumped to the roof of the car. The Times employee and his wife became uncomfortable and left.
Arroyo was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon, a crash attack, resulting in injury to another person, vandalism, and filed additional charges, and specifically charged six people with six in criminal complaints that caused serious bodily harm.
According to prison records, Arroyo still has no bail. He plans to appear in court on April 2.
