Two recent studies have been linked Cannabis use According to a press release from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), in cardiac events, especially among younger, healthier people.

Cannabis use may pose this threat to the brain
The findings will be presented at the ACC’s annual scientific conference in Chicago from March 29 to 31 and will also be published in the journal JACC Advanceds.

Healthy marijuana users The researchers found that compared with those who did not use the substance, the age of over 50 was younger than 50 years old.
They are also four times more likely to have a stroke, twice as likely to develop heart failure, and three times more likely to die from a heart event.
In one of the studies, this risk was shown one hour after marijuana use.
All participants had no previous heart disease, no tobacco users, had healthy blood pressure and Cholesterol levelsand have no history of diabetes.
“We do know that smoking increases the risk of heart events and it is reasonable to assume that smoking marijuana poses a similar risk.”
The study did not determine exactly how marijuana compromised Heart healthbut the researchers raised some possibilities.
These include “may affect heart rhythm regulation, increase the myocardium’s oxygen demand, and lead to endothelial dysfunction, which makes it harder for blood vessels to relax and dilate and can interrupt blood flow.”

“Ask about marijuana use should be part of the clinician’s work to understand the overall cardiovascular risk of patients, similar to asking patients smoke” said Ibrahim Kamel, a clinical lecturer at the Boston University’s Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and School of Internal Medicine, a clinical lecturer at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston.
“At a policy level, fair warnings should be issued so that people who consume marijuana know there is risks.”

Illinois-based interventional cardiologist and regional chief medical officer, Dr. Jasdeep Dalawari (Ingenovis Health Company) was not involved in the study, but reiterated its limitations as a retrospective study.
“A randomized control trial is ideal, but it’s hard on the topic,” he told Fox News Digital. “This raises questions about the safety of cannabis because it becomes ubiquitous.”
“At a policy level, fair warnings should be issued so that people who consume marijuana know there is risks.”
Although Dalawari said the study was “interesting and worrying”, he also called for more data on the topic.
“I recommend that all patients quit smoking all substances because we do know that smoking increases the risk of heart events and it is reasonable to assume Smoking cannabis Shows similar risks. ” he said.

“It’s interesting whether this study addresses the risk of intake and smoking. However, I recommend that patients limit marijuana use until Confirmed research Published. ”
