Enver Marius Zueros, 34, was arrested on Monday and charged with first-degree burglary, kidnapping and attempted murder in an attempt to blackmail an 89-year-old woman.
“This person will not see a day. He will spend the rest of his natural life in prison,” Somerville Police Chief Doug Wright said in a news conference.

The woman was forgotten, wearing wrists and tape on Sunday, and the dog on her ankle was traction a dog and a bag.
WCIV-TV reported that police suspected Zueros had a distant online contact with the victim’s brother. The woman maintained a relationship with him via text and email while providing financial assistance.
Police say Zueros is a resident Mission Viejo, California She started donating money to charities instead of giving money to him. To target her, he allegedly rented an Airbnb in the area.
“It’s not random,” Wright said. “He knew exactly who his goal was and had a plan. It’s a horrible example of how dangerous some of these situations can become.”
Zueros is at the woman’s home when a retired law enforcement neighbor becomes suspicious and rings on the doorbell. Zueros gave a pseudonym and said the victim was hospitalized after a shower.

Police said the neighbor was still suspicious and went to his home to grab the gun. Zueros fled the woman’s home in a car.
Police said authorities later discovered the car, and the woman was restrained under the rear folding seat on the car floor. Zueros was later arrested. Wright said the victim suffered minor injuries but performed well.
Zueros was detained in a local prison after being denied bonds.

In a subsequent article, Mays said California’s leniency criminal justice policy was hurt South Carolina.
“California influences our state’s policies. This person is in trouble with attempted murder…!” she wrote.
