Once part of the historic California Gold Rush Town and once home to Chinese miners, hundreds of lightning strikes triggered numerous fires in northern California.
this WildfireAs of Wednesday morning, 12,473 acres of land were stimulated at multiple locations around 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, according to a local report by the California Department of Forestry and Fire.
The fire forced the evacuation of the Chinese camping town, the California Gold Rush town where thousands of Chinese immigrants settled in the late 1800s.
No injuries or deaths were reported. As of Wednesday morning, the fire was still unbound.
Evacuation orders were also issued for six ranch roads, six-bie hill road, red mountain road, Don Pedro Dam Road, old Don Pedro Dam Road, Maki Hess Road, all roads from Highway 59 to Highway 49, from both sides of China Highway 120, from China Camp to Highway 120 to Highway 120 bridge, and Rojo Shawmut Road.
