“We are here because the people in our own classrooms live in fear,” a UCSD student told the protesters. according to Go to the UCSD Guardian. “Some students are unable to even apply for financial aid or campus jobs due to their immigration status. Amid calls for administrators to remove financial aid caps for illegal immigrants, protesters also want to expand resources at the Undocumented Student Services Center to provide legal support for their colleges with contracts enforced with U.S. immigration and customs (ICE), and Expand research opportunities for undocumented students.
