“What happened to Dylan is very frustrating for us all,” a spokesperson for the organization told Fox News Digital. “The fatal injuries in rodeo are extremely rare, and our focus now is on providing comfort to Dylan’s family and everyone in the rodeo community, which has been affected by this unfortunate event.
“PRCA has procedures to review all serious incidents to ensure we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of contestants and animals. The results of this review may determine the need to fine or evict future competition from future competition. We just don’t have these answers.”
“He stepped on his neck. He ran out of the arena and directly hit an ambulance, but Dylan had a double hardship,” Grant’s father, Wade Grant, told ABC News.
Wade called the incident a “freak accident.”

Grant’s family told ABC News that he knew the dangers of riding every time and wore a hockey helmet and Kevlar vest.
