Bryan Kohberger A former FBI agent said the defense team is trying to create a “fantasy” for future jurors through new efforts to get some evidence abandoned.
Kohberger charged First-degree murder Among the four deaths of the University of Idaho students include Kaylee Goncalves, 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; Madison Mogen, 21; and Ethan Chapin, 20. A former Washington State University student is also charged with one felony theft.
During the April 9 hearing, Judge Steven Hippler issued several rulings on the motions filed by the defense. Hippler partially agreed to a motion from a defense attorney that would prevent prosecutors from using words such as “mental ill” and “social perverts” during the trial.
However, he warned that the defense’s request was similar to an order that “the state shall not impose a prosecutor’s misconduct.” Shippler said the word “killer” could be used in the ending argument, but terms like “social perverts” and “psychological” cannot be used unless expert evaluation determines that the words describe Koberg.

The doctors used as witnesses also agreed to hand over her findings to Bryan Kohberger’s mental state after a motion for a former Washington State student’s autism diagnosis based on the death penalty.
Koberg’s defense team also demanded that “inflammatory evidence” be excluded from trials, such as excessive use of crime scene images, but Shippler said he hoped that the evidence would reflect the “brutal and terrible” nature of the murder.
Defence lawyers requested Kohberger’s 2020 Desales University paper on crime scene handling were denied.

At the April 9 hearing, defense attorneys also pushed for the audio from the 911 call where the victim’s roommate was excluded from trial. Shippler said he wanted to play only an edited version of the call during trial, but said he might allow 911 call audio to play.
Shippler said he would rule some motions after the hearing.
Former FBI agent Jonathan Gilliam told Fox News Numbers that he believes Koberg’s defense team is focused on raising suspicion about future jurors.

“[The defense is] Try to influence the court so that the court ultimately forms a barrier or obstacle to prosecution. ” he added.
At the April 9 hearing, defense attorney Anne Taylor tried to argue that the prosecution was intentionally slow to find, but later admitted that all the defense demands had been provided.

Gilliam said it was another attempt by Taylor to delay the process further.
“They were able to stagnate over and over again,” Gilliam said of Taylor’s court strategy. “And I wonder if they were trying to do that, put enough distance to where they could get a more sympathetic jury, and they hoped that something of evidence could be thrown away because maybe it wasn’t as clear as the prosecutors wanted.”

The previous one Homicide detective Fox News contributor Ted Williams told Fox News Digital that Koberg’s defense team is trying to do everything possible to poke the argument in the prosecution.

“What they’re doing is that they throw anything possible on the wall, hoping something will stick,” Williams said. “But there’s a lot of evidence that Bryan Kohberger not only puts the house in it, but the evidence suggests that it’s likely that he’s the killer of these four young students.”
