Brush fire burns in the Hollywood Hills, threatening homes

A brush fire burned on the Hollywood hills Tuesday night, according to Los Angeles fire officials, and the flames rose to several homes by rebrushing, according to Los Angeles fire officials.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire ignited north of the West Sunset Avenue in the 2100 block of Sunset Square Avenue.

The department reported at 6:40 p.m. that a car caught fire, and air and ground crews from the city and county fire departments were on their way to the fire.

Half an hour later, fire officials reported that water droplets from the LAFD helicopter “significantly slowed down” the progress of the fire under the house. About 80 firefighters were assigned to the fire, with about a quarter of the vegetation burning.

So far, no structure has been involved.

This is a developing story.
