The New York Yankees are losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series and losing Juan Soto in free agents. Craig Carton, Danny Parkins, Greg Jennings and Yankees manager Aaron Boone discussed what to expect from the Yankees this year.

The new design brings the barrel closer to the hand, rather than a more standard placement position at the end of the bat. Winemaker Trevor Megill raised questions about the use of the “torpedo” bat and shared his frustration after New York scored 20 runs Saturday to beat Milwaukee.

The shape of the bat is within the scope of the alliance rules, making it allowable.
According to MLB Rule 3.02, “Bats should not exceed 2.61 inches in diameter and 42 inches in length in the thickest part. The bats should be a solid piece of wood.” In addition, “experimental” bats cannot be used until the manufacturer obtains approval for the design and manufacturing methods of Major League Baseball. ”

Other players at the Brewers’Clubhouse oppose Megill’s position, with first baseman Rhys Hoskins hinting that the design has attracted him.
“I didn’t see it until after the game. They came up with a way to make it work. Logically, it made sense, but I’m not a physicist. But why don’t I want to study it more?”
“I’ve talked to some bat companies since the game to see if I could make a model like that, just to see what it looks like,” Hoskins added. “We’ll see it. Just because it works for someone doesn’t mean it works for everyone. Hitting is a feeling. But I’ll try it.”

Nestor Cortes has played for the Yankees since 2021-24 and gave up eight runs on Saturday, shrugging.
“It’s not new to me,” Cortez said. “I know a few people did it last year. I don’t think it’s important to me. I got behind the science and technology. I don’t know; it didn’t bother me.”
Yankees Sunday completed three games with a 12-3 victory.
