Grammy Award Winning Country Songwriter Brett JamesAuthorities said Friday that a string of hits, including Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Manage” and Kenny Chesney’s “The Sun Poss”, died in a North Carolina plane crash. He is 57 years old.
The FAA said in a preliminary report that the small plane crashed “in an unknown situation” in the woods of Franklin. The North Carolina Highway Patrol said in a statement that there were no survivors.

“On the stage of my life, I wouldn’t write about driving in pickup trucks, chasing girls,” he said on the Opry website. “It needs to feel more classic lyrically. They all become love songs, but hopefully there is a twisty love song that hasn’t been written before.”
