The upcoming lawsuit will be filed at the Alexander branch of the Eastern Side of Virginia, with plans to require “false title charges” against the two boys to be removed from the records, the release said. The lawsuit will also call for an immediate suspension of the boy’s suspension, which begins with an appeal and reimbursement for “severe emotional, reputational and educational harm” caused to the boy and his family.
“It’s not just about our sons — it’s about every child in Loudon County. If the district can weaponize the Title IX this way, then no family is safe,” said Seth Wolfe, the father of one of the boys. “No parents have to worry about their children being branded as a ‘sexual harasser’ just to defend their privacy.”
“Our boys endured great emotional and mental pain,” said Renae Smith, the mother of another boy. After the incident, Smith’s family eventually moved out of the state. “Our boys should focus on learning, not fighting false allegations designed to protect them.”
