Ricky Hatton, former boxing The world champion in the lightweight and sub-weight division has died. He is 46 years old.

Hatton was found dead in his home In Manchesteraccording to the Press Association. Police said they did not regard his death as suspicious.

“At 6:45 a.m. this morning, a public called Bowlacre Road in Tansedhead to attend and they found the body of a 46-year-old man,” Greater Manchester police said in a statement. “There is no suspicious at this time.”

Police did not disclose the man’s identity, but said they were working with their families to issue a statement. But several promotions and fighters in combat sports began paying tribute to the Hatton release on social media.

“Today, we have not only lost one of Britain’s greatest boxers, but also a friend, a mentor, warrior, Ricky Hatton,” boxer Amir Khan wrote on X. “Just like the warriors, we tell ourselves that we are strong – we train, we sweat, we sweat, we want to hit, we will endure the hardest fight, but sometimes, we have to be weak in our mind. We have to be weak in our weakness. We have to be weak in our weakness. We have to be weak in our part. We lean against each other.

Tyson Angry Posted a photo of himself and Hatton on Instagram.

“The legendary Ricky Hatton may tear apart,” Freery wrote in the title. “There is only one Ricky Hatton. Can’t believe it’s so young.”

Hatton plans to make a comeback in Dubai in December.

He has won multiple world titles in his career and was named Fighter of the Year by Ring Magazine, the American Boxing Writers Association and ESPN in 2005. He scored 45-3 in his career with a 32 knockout round.

Hatton’s last career struggle took place in Manchester in November 2012 with Vyacheslav Senchenko. He lost due to the knockout round.

Frank Warren, former manager of Hatton, remembers the boxer as “a brilliant and talented fighter who had few before inspired a generation of young boxers and fans.”

He added: “From making his debut in 1997 in 1997, to winning one of the most historical battles in British boxing history against Manchester’s Kostya Tszyu, Ricky will be one of the modern greats of the sport.”
