An investigation is underway after authorities evacuated a body from MacArthur Park Lake on Monday.
Lyndsey Lantz, a public service officer for the Los Angeles Fire Department, said the phone call was around 11:30 a.m.
The body was found in the lake. Lands said the victim was a man, estimated to be about 35 years old.
At about noon, the fire department had handed over the investigation to the medical examiner and the Los Angeles Police Department.
The police department did not update the case Monday afternoon. The medical examiner’s office said it would not be expected to be updated by Tuesday.
On Monday afternoon, the cause of death was not determined.
