“Real-time” host Bill Maher Mahmoud Khalil.
Khalil, the leader of the protests at Columbia University, is a Syrian national and was detained by ICE this week as the State Department announced that he would revoke his green card and student visa to seize the event led by the Department of Homeland Security.
In a panel discussion on Friday, Maher predicted that “the historian of the future” would look back and assume that the two parties “forgot their freedom of speech.”

“We talked about JD Vance’s speech in Europe a few weeks ago. We learned about them and the country’s big problems…but that’s not to say that this government does have a place to stand. They don’t care about it either,” Maher told the group.
“I don’t agree with him, but you know? If you’re an honest person, if you believe in freedom of speech, you have to defend him because that’s what freedom of speech means,” Mah said of Khalil. “I kept saying on my feet, I couldn’t change because it’s this guy now. It’s defending the dirt bag you hate.”
“I don’t believe what the kids believe now except what he said.[Intifada] It’s the only solution! Really? [Intifada] Is the only solution in the world? That’s the place for this guy. I think this is terrible. He hates this country. He hates Western civilization. I defended his death and said: “He added.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio believes Khalil’s arrest and pending deportation are “not related to freedom of speech.”
“When you come to the United States as a visitor, this is the visa – this is how this person enters the country on a visitor visa – as a visitor we can deny your visa,” Rubio says. “When you tell us when to apply, ‘Hi, I’m trying to enter the United States on a student visa. I’m a big supporter of Hamas, Hamas, a murdered, savage group, kidnapping children, rape of teenage girls, taking hostages, causing them to die in captivity, can get you back more bodies, and if you tell us you’ll tell you within your scope, If you are with you, you will be within your scope, if you have scope, if you have scope, if you are within your scope, will you visit on you? Intent to come to your country as a student and offer anti-Semitism activities to various anti-Semitism students, I intend to close your university, “If you tell us all these things when applying for a visa, we will deny your visa. ”
Rubio continued: “If you actually end up doing this with a visa like this in this country, we will revoke it and if you end up with a green card, not a citizenship, but a green card, because of the visa you were doing these activities here, we will kick you out and we will not be that simple. It’s not that. By the way, the right to green card.”
