Comedian Bill Maher praises the president Donald Trump Because of his unique attraction to voters in an episode of the podcast, he believes that he has what other politicians on both sides lack.
Maher has been a critic of Trump for years, but he has also broken the left with the left on issues such as the so-called “wake up” identity politics and the harsh aspects of Covid-19 policies. Maher pointed out that while he has always been one of Trump’s biggest critics, at some point, he thought “oh, I have to give up” and praised him.
Maher concluded: “When that guy came in from the Taliban, he did that thing and he said, ‘This is an aerial picture of your house, if someone injured during our evacuation gets hurt, I know I know where you live.” I’m like “Oh, can we play music now?” Because I don’t care.’ This is Donald Trump and he’s the worst person ever, “Wait wait, I love that.”
Maher quotes another anecdote during the 2016 Republican primary Senator Ted CruzR-Texas mocked Trump for having “New York values”, and Trump replied: “When you want to knock on New York, you have to go through me.”
“Like ‘oh, home boy’,” Maher said, praising him for defending his origins. “You know, he has those moments when there are no other politicians and Democrats have to find that guy.”

Mach believes that the key issue for the Democrats is their lack of “alpha” leaders.
“The Democrats have to propose an alpha, it’s not Tim Walz,” Maher said comparing the 2024 vice president to the stereotypical daddy in the ad.
Maher argued: “You have to attract people at some post-civilization stage, and here we are on the original level, you just do it and Trump is doing better than anyone else.”
