Police say a nanny was arrested for allegedly stabbing death, the 3-year-old girl she minds in Las Vegas.
Marketta Phillips, 41, is charged Public murder The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said in a statement that the deadly weapon was linked to the killing, which was carried out at the apartment at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday when the victim’s father was at work.
Police said Phillips stabbed the girl and then his father fled the scene when he returned home. Located in the 4200 block of Channel 10 Drive, this apartment is 5 miles south of downtown Las Vegas.

The girl was then taken to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Phillips was located near the scene and was detained.

Phillips was booked at the Clark County Detention Center. The motive for the murder is unclear, and Phillips’ relationship with the child or her father (if any) is not known.
She made her first court appearance at the Regional Justice Center on Thursday News3LV Report. The judge ordered her to remain unbundled.
