City Manager TC Broadnax defended the program. “This is the first time in Austin’s history, we will have a logo to represent the city’s service and unify us into an organization, an Austin.”

The promotion began on October 1, 2025, with digital assets such as the city’s website, social media and newsletters. Physical assets such as uniforms, vehicles and signs will gradually “minimize the impact on the city’s budget,” the release said.

The budget documents show that the rebranding cost is $1,117,558, including $200,000 for designs, $640,000 for suppliers, and $115,000 for public awareness activities, KXAN Report.

Chris Aarons, a marketing professor, provided an opinion to KXAN. “Coca-Cola is just a script, but it’s a beautiful script. But for over 120 years, they make it meant happiness. It’s really what the entity means to make the logo at the end of the day.”

Austin and Pentacle Star Austin did not immediately respond to Fox News numbers’ requests for comment.
