Now, this is a dynamic period in the automotive industry. Many manufacturers who previously promised to enter the better world of electrification have now Pull out the literal and metaphorical brakes On this idea, lean backward to hybrids, plug-ins and various other propulsion means.
Audi is one of the brands that recently devalues its stance on the EV Front, and can continue to support internal combustion power machines as long as the market demands. But the new concept unveiled in Milan today makes us meaningful for the next generation of electric cars and the views of hybrid and other concepts, which will wear four rings on the nose.
It is called Concept C, and it is part of the movement of Audi’s brass movement, called “The Next Step of the Radical”. It’s a reboot of the brand design work, a back-to-back project that starts with a huge simplified interior design.
While many modern Audis have one or two huge touch screens, in concept c there is only a pure dashboard with a subtle lighting vertical slot in the middle. The controls are physical and chunky, designed to have a strong weight and touch, characterized by what the car’s designer calls the “Audi click” sound.
It’s definitely a big departure for Audi, but praises the modern sensitivity with a 10.4-inch touchscreen. It is hidden, tucking itself behind the dashboard when it is not needed and quickly spins into the view when summoned. The car also has button and touch-sensitive surfaces that disappear behind the dashboard, a row of backlit controls that only appear when needed.
The exterior of the car is also a substantial restart. In this new concept, you’ll see similarities to the brand’s last great sports car, TT, which is out of production in 2023. But to see the key inspiration for Concept C, you have to go back a little bit, back to the Auto Union Grand Prix machine of the 1930s.
Specifically, Audi referenced the C type, a one-day tour competition from 1936 to 1937. The car’s shape and upright grille will certainly continue in Concept C, but this new road car has a retro racing feature that lacks: a folding hardtop convertible.
Concept C is actually the first Audi to play like this, and its exterior is the appearance of a coupe, but the open-air design of the convertible roadster. The rear of the shutters and simple tapered shapes are dipped in colored paint, designed to mimic the subtle warmth of titanium.
One thing that doesn’t allow for tapered shapes is the rear window. like Polestar 4Concept C takes an extreme position on backward visibility by completely lacking features. That rearview mirror you see hanging from the glass is digital. However, the fact that the car even has rearview mirrors, exterior mirrors and windshield wipers suggests that this matter may be close to production.
When it comes to the question of making it more practical, and sadly, we don’t have a lot of details yet. Audi once again said it would be an electric car, but the design would impact a new generation of Audi media, which includes a variety of options, including hybrid and internal combustion, “and this will affect as the transition to electric mobility develops.”
The car is definitely battery-powered, though the company hasn’t shared more details yet. Audi says it’s rear-wheel drive, which will point to the single motorcycle behind, but future versions of Quattro all-wheel drive seem to be a sure bet.
The TT, the predecessor of this car, was actually based on the Volkswagen Golf chassis, which brought it to the front-wheel drive. But if this new machine is going to share the fund with anything Preview in a task.
But now this is just a guess, it’s just a concept. Audi is not saying that cars like this may see production, but rather a machine that is destined to be the one you can buy. This will be good news for those who missed the far-reaching TT. If the concept C, based on production, still looks good when hitting a dealer, it is likely to be as much as its predecessor.
