represent. Alexandria Ocasio-CortezDN.Y. on Friday opposed a resolution commemorating the life and legacy of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated during a Sept. 10 speech at Utah Valley University.
Speaking on the House floor, Ocasio-Cortez claimed that the resolution was “purely partisan basis, not solidarity with Congress.”
After denounced Kirk’s murder, she pointed to the resolution: “It brought great pain to millions of Americans who endured segregation, Jim Crow and the paranoid legacy today,” and tore the 31-year-old ideology.
“We should know who Charlie Kirk was: a man who believed that the Civil Rights Act that granted Black Americans the right to vote was a mistake, who, after the violent attack on Paul Pelosi, claimed that ‘some amazing patriot’ should bail out his brutal assailant, and accused Jews of controlling ‘not just the colleges – it’s the nonprofits, it’s the movies, it’s Hollywood, it’s all of it,'” Ocasio-Cortez said. “His rhetoric and beliefs are ignorant, uneducated, and attempt to deprive millions of Americans of legitimacy-far from “relatively promoting unity,” which most people argue in this resolution. ”

The resolution describes Kirk as a “devoted Christian”, “dedicated husband”, a “loving father” of two people, explains his establishment of America’s turn and praises his anthropomorphism of the First Amendment.
It addressed the House of Representatives’ condemnation of Kirk’s assassination and all forms of political violence. Praise law enforcement for arresting Kirk’s so-called killer; express condolences to Kirk’s family; commemorate Kirk’s life, leadership, and legacy; and call on all Americans (without race, partisan or creed) to “reject political violence, have the right to respect debate, uphold American values, and respect Americans with each other.”

The “Fearless” journey brings Charlie Kirk’s free speech mission to universities across the country
Except for Ocasio-Cortez Rashida tlaib Maxine Waters of Michigan and California.
However, 95 Democrats voted to pass the resolution, including Minority Leader DN.Y. Hakeem Jeffries, D-Mass. HP Katherine Clark and caucus chair Pete Aguilar, D-Calif.
This is a breakdown of Kirk’s public comments on topics Ocasio-Cortez mentioned in her dissent.
AOC claims: Charlie Kirk is “a man who believes that the Civil Rights Act that grants black Americans the right to vote is ‘errone’
In a podcast on February 2, 2024, with “Fearless” host Jason Whitlock, Kirk acknowledged his idea of surrounding the Civil Rights Act and its role in current American society as “provocative”, thanking Whitlock for the opportunity to explain further.
“It’s a horrible provocative conversation I started, I stick with it, and I’m grateful for the opportunity – I mean Jason to explain that. Even some people on the right are just insulting, and they’ll never let me play the show to explain it.”
Kirk went on to say that he has extensively studied what the Civil Rights Act was, the work that was attempted to accomplish, how it was sold to the American people at the time, and how modern scholarly consensus now sees it.

“At the time, at that time, the federal government needed to do some legislative priorities to stop miserable segregation – I always thought of that,” Kirk said. “The American people believe that segregation based on race is evil and wrong. In fact, what they get is the reproduction of a permanent deep bureaucracy that is looking for racism that does not exist and ultimately has affirmative action, quotas, quotas and hiring practices that go beyond the racial issues of LGBTQ-TQ-TQ-type.
“What really was born in the civil rights era is that it’s the federal government’s job not only to say that discrimination is wrong, but to actively oppose any different outcomes and try to score under the guise of fairness.”
Anti-Trump voice praises Charlie Kirk
Kirk continues to discuss Martin Luther King Jr.
“At the time, most Americans wanted to see the end of apartheid,” he said. “They didn’t want to see the new segregation that ended up being proposed in anti-white recruitment practices, affirmative action, or the entire federal bureaucracy with racial recruitment quotas.
“End of the day, you look around and your left defends a black dorm, a black graduation ceremony in hundreds of colleges nationwide… You look back at the Civil Rights Act, you say we maybe we don’t intend to go beyond and build something we don’t intend to be a kind of federal Levians against racism.”

AOC claims: Charlie Kirk follows Paul Pelosi’s violent attack
In an episode of “The Charlie Kirk Show” on October 31, 2022, titled “Maga” Kirk discusses the attack on October 28, 2022 Nancy Pelosi The husband said directly, “I don’t have the right to do it, I think it’s awful.”
David Depape, a Canadian citizen living in the United States, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2024 after attacking Paul Pelosi with a hammer, causing two head wounds and right arm and hand.
Depape described it as a “not sane” person in this episode, and he admitted to creating a plot to hold Nancy Pelosi, the hostage of the then-Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who would “break the knee” if she did not admit that she allegedly told a “lie” of the investigation into Russian intervention in the 2016 presidential campaign. She was not at home at the time of the attack.

Kirk’s comments about “Balliance” Depape are related to the concept of differences in cashless bail strategies.
Under the cashless bail policy, a suspect was arrested for a crime and they were released before trial without paying bail or margin. The fees are charged to ensure that the suspects do not escape and to inspire them to make scheduled court appearances.
Although many free jurisdictions enact policies, critics claim that cashless bail measures put the public at risk and put repeated offenders infringement.
“I’m not qualified [the attack]I think it’s awful,” Kirk said, “It’s not right. But why in Chicago, you are able to murder and set out the next day. Why you can trespass second-degree murder, arson, threaten public officials, [and receive] No cash bail. This happens throughout San Francisco, but if you pursue worry…you are [not] Come out immediately. knew. ”
Kirk continues to question why Depape is still incarcerated in San Francisco, a Democratic stronghold with a cash-free bail policy in the wake of Paul Pelosi’s attack.
Months before the attack, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that her office had a policy that would seek cash bail in certain misdemeanor cases, claiming that the bail “unfairly punishes people with less financial significance and has a disproportionate impact on defendants of color.”
“Why the conservative movement is blamed on homosexuality, schizophrenia nudists are marijuana jewelry makers, breaking into someone’s home…” Kirk said while discussing Depape’s ideology. “Why are we responsible for this, why is he still in jail. Why is he not released on bail?[,000] Or $40,000. Bail him and then go and ask him some questions. ”

Kirk continued to hope Paul Pelosi recovered quickly and condemned the attack for the second time.
“Look, I wish him all the best. I wish him a quick recovery,” Kirk said. “No one should have encountered this kind of violence.”

AOC claims: Charlie Kirk “accused Jews of not only controlling colleges – it’s a nonprofit, it’s a movie, it’s Hollywood, it’s all.'”
In the “Charlie Kirk Performance” podcast on October 26, 2024, Kirk claims that Jewish donors have been the first funding mechanism for radical, open neoliberal quasi-Maxist policies, cultural institutions and nonprofits.
“This is a wild beast created by secular Jews,” Kirk said. “Now the Jews are coming, they’re like, ‘What the hell is going on.’ It’s not just college, it’s movie, it’s Hollywood, it’s all.”
Kirk, a long-time Israeli supporter, later debated in an episode of The Charlie Kirk Show on November 16, 2023 Titled “Elon Musk smashes digital narratives”, some of Jewish organizations and donors, including the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), helped fund “anti-white” or “cultural Marxist” ideas (DEI) that are consistent with the Black Lives Matter or the Integration of Diversity and Equity (DEI).

He pointed out that he did not think that all Jews were against whites—specifying that he “don’t like generalization.”
“I don’t like generalization,” Kirk said in the episode. “Not every Jew believes this. But the Anti-Defamation League is important with Black Lives. Indeed, some of the biggest financiers on the left-wing anti-whites are Jewish Americans. Jews are all in trouble. They are all in trouble. They are not only the top Jews, but in this country, we have done that to the university management.”
Kirk added that after the October episode, critics labeled him as anti-Semitic, clarifying that he was “happy that Jewish Americans were reconsidering their financing of cultural Marxism, people deliberately misunderstood it and mistaken us for anti-Semitic.”
While “cultural Marxism” has been used as an anti-Semitism term, it is well known that commentators use it without anti-Semitism intentions.
