American Veterans Working with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), we hope to define the record directly as what happened on the ground after the war ended.
Jason Murray, Scott Weimer and Brandon Zielinski (all U.S. veterans) are working to secure Palestinians in Gaza Get the food they need.
All three talked to Fox News Digital and said they were proud of the work they did with GHF.
“We kind of built a plane in the air…and don’t even know where we’re going to land.”
GHF began operations in May 2025 a year and a half after the war began. Murray said he had seen similarities in his military service, which helped him become a GHF volunteer, facing challenges in allocating aid in Gaza.

Weimer told Fox News that when opportunities arise, it seems like a “natural fit” and he feels he can meet needs in ways that others can’t. He also said his service experience and Murray working in this type of environment, they were able to find people with the right skills and put them where they were most useful.
Zielinski said he went through many bilateral training when he was in the army, in which he did not always speak the language he traveled with. He said his experience in working in language barriers helped him with Israel Defense Forces (IDF), coordinated with GHF.
All three talked about the despair they saw from hungry Palestinians, trying to get food. They also describe bad actors who exploited this situation – including Hamas agents and gang members trying to hurt people with GHF (particularly Palestinian locals).
Murray gave Fox News Digital some insight into how to coordinate when it comes to getting bad actors out and getting help from civilians in need.
“From a security perspective, our goal is to provide assistance in a safe and reliable way. Hamas does operate in this area. Again, we know. We have told us in various ways, ‘Hey, Hamas is here today.’” Murray told Fox News Digital Numbers.
He also said that the Hamas threat is not a threat that GHF personnel can easily bear.

Weimer responded to Murray’s sentiment, saying GHF personnel “Absolutely look at Hamas In the background, “But their focus in the prospect is to help those in need. He also earned Zielinski’s team honors as they tried to interfere with the GHF’s mission.
“The reason they’re amazing is that people seeking food and seeking aid can sometimes be overwhelming. I’ve never seen any of us overreact and I think it’s a very terrible situation for anyone.”
Before Zielinski’s team starts working, IDF briefings are usually conducted on about 48 hours of security before it moves. Zielinski told Fox News Digital that he has seen changes in the Safe Distribution Site (SD) over time due to threats in the region.
Zielinski told Fox News Digital Digital: “We’ve seen pistols before, and there were Aks before.
He also said his team is looking for patterns, recording them, and then turning into information from intelligence officials or material that can be used to capture bad actors.
“We’ll see, OK, ‘Hey, we’ve seen this guy before, and he looks suspicious,’ and the next thing, it’s a guy with a pistol.”

Weimer told Fox News that the media’s description of GHF has disturbed him because they “so far.” He said he had called home and told his family that they should not “believe in the hype.”
“I think that’s what I want to tell the American people that these people are these people here, these soldiers who live a long and glorious life, we will never be part of things [like] Wei Mo said, what I saw in the media is. It really makes me sick and so far it has frustrated me. ”

Zielinski highlights the enthusiasm of GHF volunteers for the work they do. He said the people he worked with in the war-torn enclave tried to do whatever possible to help civilians in need.
Since its operations began in May, GHF said it has provided more than 160 million meals to Palestinians in need. The organization has not yet operated in the smoothest environment. Despite the threat of terrorists and international criticism, the GHF still calls on the international community to join its mission – providing food to those who need it.
“Everyone wants to help, everyone sees rewards … we all love doing that,” Zielinski said.
