Amazon has upgrade Its AI video model, Nova scrollcapable of generating videos with a length of up to two minutes.
Nova Reel, announced in December 2024, is Amazon’s first foray into the generated video space. It competes with the model Openai,,,,, Googleand others who are quickly becoming crowded markets.
AWS developer advocate Elizabeth Fuentes explained in a blog post that the latest Nova reel Nova Reel 1.1 can generate “multi-play” videos with “consistent style”. Users can provide up to 4,000 characters of prompts to generate videos that last up to two minutes, composed of six seconds of shooting.
Nova Reel 1.1 also introduces a new model called the “Multishot Manual”. In this mode, the model can reference images and prompts to provide more control over the video shooting composition. According to Fuentes, given an image with a resolution of 1280×720 and a hint of 512-maximum characters, the multi-purpose manual can generate videos containing up to 20 photos.
Nova Reel is only available through AWS platforms and services, including Bedrock, Amazon’s AI development kit, and customers must request special access. Like most generated AI systems, there is a question about whether the reels are developed using a morally reasonable method.
Video generation models are trained, trained in numerous video examples to “understand” the patterns in these videos to generate new clips. Some companies train copyrighted videos without permission from the owner or creator when these models “RefluxCopyright protected still image that exposes model users to IP lawsuits.
Amazon has not disclosed the source of Reel’s training data, nor has it provided creators with a clear way to potentially put model data sets for you to opt out. However, the company said it will protect any AWS customers accused of copyright infringement in violation of its model media and comply with its compensation policy.
