She stressed: “I always recommend something to anyone, anyone abroad, just to remember that you are removed from the safety net, part of that part of life that you never really thought of, always have the potential to be in trouble there, if you fall or get lost – that doesn’t exist anymore – that doesn’t exist anymore.”

“You should remember, especially for young people, seeking help doesn’t make you a small amount of personal or adult,” she said. “In fact, knowing when and how to seek help is a very adult thing. That’s what I recommend…be careful. Seek help. Always rely on others around you if you have questions. Always rely on your family.”

“Don’t be afraid to let your kids enter the world and be the ones they are going to be beautiful humans,” she said. “I think one of the truly beautiful things we have now is the ability to stay in touch with much more than I could do when I was studying abroad.
“Keep in touch, be there, provide support, support anything. I think being a good listener is the main thing I would recommend to parents. Kids don’t like being told what to do, but listen and that extra safety net to focus on what sounds sketchy and support.
Knox added: “Please be aware of what your child says to you.”
Knox said she began slowly opening up her past to the three-year-old, who had already begun to ask questions.

Knox continued: “She wanted to play ‘mom and I go to Italy.’ “She explained that if we went to the park and there was a bar place, she would walk behind the bar, shake them, and go, ‘Let me out! ‘
“It’s so stupid, it really makes it a new perspective…she knows mom was very sad for a long time and mom’s friends were really hurt… it’s incredible…it’s incredible and super dissatisfied.”
