Ovechkin Celebration

Ovechkin entered the game and it took two games for three to become the new goal king – he had only four minutes to ignite the lights against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Five minutes away from the third stage, the capital played a strong match. For Ovechkin, an obvious ice scene he took advantage of. He screamed through Spencer Knight.

All the capitals entered the ice when Ovechkin gave a loud and long applause.

Gretzky began his trek through the building, following Ovechkin along the way – but he won’t follow him for longer. At the time of publication, the game has more than 13 minutes left.

Ovechkin was selected as Washington’s first overall draft pick in 2004, but his debut was postponed for a year due to lockdown.

Well, he made up for the lost time. This is not the feeling of statistical compilation, either, as OVI still looks at its peak. In his 20th NHL season, the record goal was Ovechkin’s 41st goal this year, ranking third in the NHL, behind Leon Draisaitl and William Nylander.

Alex Ovechkin Odds: When did he break Wayne Gretzky’s scoring record?

This is Ovechkin’s 14th goal in his career – if the league doesn’t lock again in 2012-13, he may have 15 such seasons (although he does lead the league with 32 goals). He leads the NHL in nine goals.

Even more impressive is that Ovechkin missed out on his leg fracture in the nearly two months of the season.

Ovechkin seemed to slow down a bit last season, scoring only 31 goals in 79 games. But maybe he got some juice because he knew he could break the season’s record.

Oh, and when Ovechkin broke the record, the capital was a Stanley Cup contender – their 105 points were second in the NHL.

The good news for Gretzky is that if you take all his 894 goals, he still has the most points in NHL history.
