The capital of Washington Star Alex Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky’s all-time score in three goals on Wednesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes.
This is the only goal the capital lost to them 5-1 hurricane. He played almost two in the game but was parked in the hole by goalkeeper Frederik Andersen in the second stage. He eventually defeated Anderson in a 5-3 power match later in the second game.

“We transferred a chance to break through the second time, the first time,” Ovechkin said. “In this game, if you have a chance, you have to use it, and I think all the goalkeepers played well tonight.”
Ovechkin acknowledges the playoff atmosphere in Raleigh, North Carolina. In the third phase, after multiple battles broke out, eight players were given match misconduct.
“We knew it was possible to see them in the playoffs,” Ovickin said. “That was the playoff atmosphere.”

“(The record) feels like it’s right there,” said chief defender Trevor Van Riemsdyk. “He felt like he was still scoring every night. It was so big for us and he was happy to see him still doing it at this painful pace.”
