The U.S. Supreme Court prohibits the use of DEI in admissions to discriminate against the college after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in the case of Fair Admissions Company v. Harvard College.

The Department of Justice wrote in a press release that the previous administration “has raised the ideology behind this illegal practice and did nothing to protect the civil rights of American students.”
“The Justice Department will end a shameful system in which someone’s race is more important than their ability,” said Acting Deputy Attorney General Chad Mizelle. “Every university and university should know that illegal discrimination will be investigated and eliminated.”

The Justice Department said the compliance investigation into these universities “is just the beginning of the department’s work on eradicating illegal DEIs and protecting legal equality.”
