A woman accused Sean Diddy of comb and Jay-Z of rape at a family gathering after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, which led her to lawsuit against two men on Friday her lawsuit was dismissed.
Court documents filed in New York federal court on Friday said the lawsuit was “voluntarily dismissed by prejudice.” It cannot be supplemented. The new document comes months after the Jay-Z lawyer whose real name is Shawn Carter, demanding that the judge repeal the complaint, Quote the contradictions in the woman’s story.
“Fake cases” against Jay-Z “should never be brought to you,” Alex Spiro, the attorney for hip-hop tycoon, said in a statement. He added that his client did not resolve the case with the plaintiff.
“By facing outrageous false accusations, Jay did very little things – he pushed down, never settled, he never paid a penny, he won and cleared his name .”
The lawsuit was originally filed against Combs in October, accusing him of raping a 13-year-old girl at a family gathering after the star-studded music award. In December, the complaint was revised to Add Jay-Z as the defendant. The complaint said the two men took turns to attack her, which Jay-Z and the Comb had repeatedly denied.
The allegations in the lawsuit were “understood, fictional and shocking,” said Friday in a statement.
“This civil lawsuit has no merits and will never go anywhere,” he said. “The fictional story they created is ridiculous, if not for the seriousness of the claim. I don’t want anyone’s experience. My wife , my children, loved ones and the trauma I endured will never be fired.”
His statement continued that a December NBC News investigation found inconsistencies in the plaintiff’s story:
“The plaintiff initially told NBC News that she spoke to musician Benji Madden at a post-party in which the alleged attack occurred, but Benji’s representative and his brother Joel were touring the Midwest. . Additionally, the plaintiff said her father picked her up after the alleged assault, but he denied her account, telling NBC News that he “cannot verify the claims.”
Jay-Z’s statement continued: “The plaintiff’s fabricated lies further unveiled the lies after she said she watched the 2000 Video Music Awards ceremony on a giant stage outside the Radio City Music Hall. A sprawling federal indictment claims that at a party known as the “freak,” Combs used his power to trap victims in sexual intercourse for decades. Combs, who refused any misconduct, was arrested last September after nearly a year of investigation by federal authorities. He is still in custody in Brooklyn awaiting trial.
Some have suggested sweeping other well-known figures into a scandal. But federal prosecutors have not named any accomplices, nor have they said that any victims of combs are minors.
The lawsuit, which was dismissed on Friday, was one of 40 sets of civil lawsuits filed against the comb, but the only one enumerating a list of A-listed accomplices. Tony Buzbee’s lawyer filed more than two dozen lawsuits against the comb, including the just-fired comb, declined to comment.
Comb’s lawyer said in a statement that the dismissal was “another confirming that these lawsuits were based on falsehood, not factuality.”
“Sean Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone – men or women, adults or minors,” the statement said. “No number of lawsuits, sensational charges or media dramas.” Will change this reality.”
