The Trump administration is pushing Chicago Public Schools Abolish its Black Student Success Program and guidelines, allowing transgender students to participate in sports and use bathroom facilities that are consistent with the gender they identify.
Minister of Education Linda McMahon Posted on X, the department’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR) sent a letter to Chicago Public Schools saying the district violated anti-discrimination laws through its “exclusive Black Student Success Program,” which they noted was completely for Black students.

The Magnet School Aid Program has a legal obligation to promote segregation to “increase interactions among students of different social, economic, racial and ethnic backgrounds.” The letter states: “Before the grant, OCR’s Assistant Secretary of Civil Rights must sign a guarantee that the applicant will “not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, nationality, national origin, sexuality or disability.” ”

Trump administration urgently Chicago Public schools further ended their “guidelines for support for trans and gender-inconsistent students”, which they called “face discriminatory” based on gender. Chicago public schools were ordered to adopt a biology-based definition that aligns with federal regulations with the terms “male” and “female”.
“This does not state the safety and inclusion of female students who are forced to compete with men,” the letter added.
“Because of these findings, I will not prove that the grant granted by CPS to 20 USC §7231d(c). Similarly, the MSAP grant from CPS will no longer last under 34CFR §75.253(a)(5), because it is no longer in the best interest of the federal government,” the letter said. ”
CPS was ordered to comply with the Trump administration’s list of requirements in order to receive grants.

Ministry of Education Other magnet schools were called in New York City and Fairfax Public Schools (VA.) that allegedly violated federal law.
“Protecting students’ civil rights is not negotiable. @usedgov McMahon posted on X that won’t prove that magnet schools in New York City, Chicago and Fairfax public schools are complying with the law. ”
The letter comes after OCR conducted an investigation with Chicago public schools for transgender students, which is consistent with Illinois regulations and in the spring with Black Student Success Program in the area.
