“According to many former Biden-Administration officials, there is a debate within the government about whether these titles IX protections should be extended to sports,” the New York Times reported. “One side…the other side… insists that having trans students use bathrooms that align with their gender identity and having trans students stay in athletic teams get along well with their sports teams.

But Biden “on the other end…they think the competitive, zero-sum sports nature makes them different from the bathrooms – some transgender athletes are unfair to women’s physical advantages.

“Most importantly, one of the officials holding this view is Biden himself,” the Times wrote.

The Times received a offer from a former Biden administration official who said Biden was “particularly concerned about competition.”
