Knowledge about taking photos with Airpods

With the camera remote enabled, you can use AirPods to take photos or use any camera mode to shoot videos, such as portraits and time delays.

When you use AirPods to take photos in static mode (such as photos or portraits), you will see three countdowns in the upper left corner of the photo frame. Your iPhone’s flash will also light up during the countdown, letting you know that photos will be taken soon. If you are taking a photo, you will only see the countdown on the screen.

The three-second countdown will be enabled automatically and I can’t find a way to disable it. You can expand the countdown in the camera by tapping on the point grid in the upper right corner of the screen, tapping on Timer And tap for 5 or 10 seconds. You can click on 3s, but this won’t change the countdown.

When you shoot videos with AirPods, you won’t see a timer or anything else. Pressing the AirPods is like pressing the record button on your iPhone. You can then press AirPods again to stop recording.

It is important to note that the camera remote only works when at least one AirPod is connected to your iPhone. The easiest way is to put an AirPod in your ear. If you want to take a picture but don’t want your AirPod to show up in the picture, you can use the camera remote to activate the photo process, remove the AirPod from your ear in a three-second countdown and hold it in your hand or pocket until the iPhone takes a photo.
