Senate Democrats Republicans knocked down protesters on Friday with a short-term government-funded extension.

Their plans will open the government until October 31, permanently extending Obamacare premium subsidies, eliminating Medicaid cuts for the Big and Beautiful Bill, and returning funds for cancelled NPR and PBS.

“It’s not clean – it’s dirty,” Thun said. “It’s full of partisan policies and measures designed to attract the Democratic left base.”

However, Schumer accused Thune of not coming to the negotiating table and interacting directly with him in order to find a way forward to avoid Government shutdown.

Democrats are particularly looking to reach an agreement on expired Obamacare subsidies and some guarantees for future revocation and water storage.

“If they sit down to negotiate, we’ll sit down to negotiate,” Schumer said. “We don’t have a red line, but we know we have to help the American people.”
