President Donald Trump’s $15 billion lawsuit against the New York Times has been abandoned.
A federal judge in Tampa said the president’s 85-page lawsuit would be “invalid and unauthorized” and gave him a new complaint of 28 days that must be below 40 pages.
U.S. District Judge Steven D. He also criticized the lawsuit’s typical description of Trump and overly political language, writing the complaint is not “a public forum for maintenance and invitations for public forums” or “a megaphone for public relations or a podium for passionate speeches at political gatherings.”
The lawsuit filed by Trump this week is his latest lawsuit against major media organizations. He accused the paper of being a virtual “mouth tongue” for the Democratic Party and made illegal “election donations” to rival Kamala Harris in 2024.
