iOS 26 warning summary is inaccurate
When I updated to iOS 26, some splash screens asked me to seek various permissions. A splash screen is used for AI notification summary. When you see this screen, you have two options: Select notifications to summarize or not now. If you click not nowthe splash screen disappeared.
If you click Select the notification to summarize, You will be taken to a new page where you will see three categories: News & Entertainment, Communication & Social, and all other apps. Clicking one of these categories allows the app notification summary in that category. Under the News & Entertainment category, if you click on it, there is a warning outlined in red.
The warning adds, “The summary may change the meaning of the original title.”
There is also a warning at the bottom of the screen that says: “This is a Beta feature. The summary may contain errors.”
After clicking on the required category, click Summary of selected notifications At the bottom of the screen. If you selected all categories, this button will read Summary of all notifications.
If you don’t want these summary, you can click Don’t summarize the notification. If you allow these summary and don’t like them, you can easily turn it off. This is the method.
How to turn off AI notification summary
1. Tap settings.
2. Tap notify.
3. Tap Summary notice.
4. Click Summary notice Toggle in the new menu.
You can also follow the steps above to reopen the AI notification summary. You must also select which categories of these summary you want.
