Officials say the human remains may belong to Travis Decker, whose father found a father accused of murdering three young daughters in Washington state Thursday night.
The body is in a remote forest area south of Leavenworth, the Chilan County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
“The Chilan County Sheriff’s Office announced that it is possible that human remains are found to be the remains of Travis Decker,” the sheriff’s office said.

This week, the U.S. Marshal Services Pacific Northwest Violent Criminals Task Force conducted a search, including the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington State Patrol, the U.S. Border Patrol, the U.S. Forrest Service, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI.
“During the search, human remains were located in a remote forest area south of Leavenworth,” the release said.
It added: “While a positive recognition has not been confirmed, preliminary findings suggest that the body belongs to Travis Decker.”

Delegates said the finding would be subject to DNA analysis.
Kiran County Sheriff Mike Morrison told Kiro 7 that the body is located in Grindstone Mountain near Icicle Road, just a few miles from the death of his three daughters.
